Government SCHOLARSHIPS
Korean government scholarship program
This scholarship is provided by the South Korean government for international undergraduate students.
Read on to learn about
the applications, requirements, & subsidies.

Eligibility

1. Applicants and their parents must hold citizenships in their country of origin.
For example: If an applicant is from the United States and their parents hold a citizenship from any other country but the United States, that applicant will not be eligible for this scholarship.
2. Applicants must complete their elementary, middle, & high school education.
Applicants that are still studying in high school may apply, however they must graduate before their date of arrival. Once they have graduated they will be required to present the government with proof of their high school diploma.
3. All applicants must be under the age of 25 when they are applying.
Applicants who will be turning 25 before their date of entry into the university will not be eligible.
4. All applicants must provide health documents.
This process is required for every scholarship program & university.
5. All applicants must achieve a minimum G.P.A of 80%.
It is not an issue if your school does not have the G.P.A scoring system as the grades will be calculated in whatever form they are in.
*If you are granted this scholarship you will be required to study Korean for 1 year.
This year will NOT be counted into your 4 years of academics at a Korean university.
EXEMPTION:
Applicants who already have a level 5 in TOPIK will be exempted from the mandatory year of studying Korean.

Applications
1. An announcement will be made on the Study In Korea website.
The application period is in September.
The announcements are also made in September, prior to the year of your studies.
2. Hand in your application forms to the South Korean embassy in your country.
Once you have handed in your application forms, the embassy will pick a number of candidates
and refer them to the Korean Government.
The Korean Government will then make a decision on granting the scholarships to the applicants.
