The different Types of housing that exist:
(keep in mind that most types of housing in korea require a deposit!)
Goshiwon - 고시원
the cheapest option! (outside of dorms)
you're in luck, as goshiwons don't ask for deposits.
goshiwons are usually situated near the subway!
if you do choose to stay, be ready for a very tiny room.
the majority, if not all, goshiwons range from $380 - $510.

what is a goshiwon?
* a goshiwon is the smallest room available for rent in korea.
* the average goshiwon is 3 square meters. (very tiny)
* goshiwons mostly consist of students as they are situated near universities.
* some goshiwons don't have windows! (which may not be the best option for claustrophobic individuals)
* you do not need to pay for electricity or water.
* Goshiwons provide you with rice, kimchi, and ramen! (for free!)
